In the event an adult requires help managing his or her finances, a judge will appoint a conservator based on the laws of the California Probate Code. The two most common types of conservatorship are general and limited based on the level of care required of the conservatee. To be appointed as the conservator, of a person and/or an estate, you must petition the court and follow several steps to obtain the courts permission.
